Day 1

Place & Transport: Arrive in Lhasa, get the first impression of Tibet
Today's Activities: Spectacular scenery and typical Tibetan villages along the way.
Meals: /
Detailed Itinerary: Welcome to Tibet! Upon arrival be picked up and transferred to the hotel. Better not do any activities at the first day in order to acclimatize Tibet environment. Better to drink some water and have a good sleep for next day's holy sightseeing excursion.

Day 2

Place & Transport: Lhasa highlights escorted tour
Today's Activities: Wind your way up through the Potala, join the shuffling, murmuring pilgrims around the shrines of the Jokhang and souvenir shopping at Barkor
Meals: B
Detailed Itinerary: This morning you'll wind your way up through the stunning, awe-inspiring Potala Palace. Built in 637 AD by Songtsen Gampo, it was the former winter residence for the Dalai Lamas and is truly a splendor of Eastern architecture. Next, visit the Johkang Temple, the center of Tibetan Buddhism, also built in the 7th century on the legendary pond of "Wothang." Finish the day by taking a Kora around the Barkhor. Test your bartering skills with the locals in this push-and-shove economy.

Day 3

Place & Transport: Lhasa highlights tour
Today's Activities: Tibet Museum,Sera Monastery
Meals: B
Detailed Itinerary: Visit Tibet Museum for the whole morning, later after lunch, witness the famous debate sessions by the monks at Sera Monastery.

Day 4

Place & Transport: Lhasa/Gyangtse (alt.4040m)/Shigatse (alt.3850m)
Today's Activities: Fabulous scenery of turquoise Lake and Karola glacier, Palkhor Temple (optional)
Meals: B,L,D
Detailed Itinerary: In the morning drive to Gyantse along the Kyichu River. On the Kamba La (4.796 m) have a fantastic view of the holy lake Yamdrok (4441 m), one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and the largest habitat of waterfowls in south Tibet. Then continue to Gyantse, you can enjoy Ningjinkangsang Snow Mountain and Karola Glacier from a distance on the way as well. Upon arrival in Gyantse, have a stop in Palkhor Temple for around one hour, if you would like to have a visit (self-paid), you could go and the guide will be with you. If you don't, you could stroll in this ancient town at leisure. After that, continue to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet, have the view of the famous fertile farmers' land.

Day 5

Place & Transport: Shigatse/Tingri (alt.4300m)/EBC (alt.5200m)
Today's Activities: Take in the magnificent views of the north face of Mt. Everest
Meals: B,L,D
Detailed Itinerary: In the morning the guide takes about some time to issue the group the second travel permit (PSB) or the guide may do it on the arrival day if time permit. The PSB permit is a must travel document for the visit to Mt. Everest. Then visit Tashilumpu Monastery. After the visit, drive further in to the mountains to get to Mt. Everest Base Camp via Tingri. The road condition to the Base Camp is rough; stay overnight at Rongbuk Guesthouse, the accommodation tonight is a little simple.

Day 6

Place & Transport: EBC/Shigatse
Today's Activities: Mt. Everest, Rongbuk Monastery (optional), Scenery on the way
Meals: B,L,D
Detailed Itinerary: From the arrival day till today you will have the best view of Mt. Everest in any way. Get up earlier and enjoy the stunning view of the mountain Himalayas and maybe the sunrise if weather permits. Have a stop in Rongbuk Monastery (optional visit, self-paid), the highest monastery in the world. Then we will drive back to Shigatse city, upon arrival, leisure time at your disposal.

Day 7

Place & Transport: Shigatse/Lhasa
Today's Activities: Scenery on the another way to Lhasa
Meals: B,L
Detailed Itinerary: This morning you'll drive back to Lhasa, but don't worry, you'll take a slightly different route this morning back to Lhasa. So, sit back and enjoy another full day of breathless mountains under an endless Himalayan sky. Those with shorter tour options will be transported to the airport.

Day 8

Place & Transport: Finish this unforgettable tour
Today's Activities: Scenery on the way and say goodbye
Meals: /
Detailed Itinerary: Free time in the morning, after lunch departure transfer to see off, tour services end and Tibet welcome you back forever.

About the price:

Please check below for what's included in this tour. The quatation based on chinese currency RMB. USD Exchange rate 6.8:1 for reference.

* Price: US$736/p.p

* Special Notes: The price is US$20/p.p. higher if your booking is within 10 days prior to departure

* Surcharge will be applied to the following situations:
  • 1) we pick up the clients at the airport once at 15:20 per group (included in the quotation)
  • 2) we see off the clients to the airport once at 12:00 per group (included in the quotation)
  • 3) If you want to have your own flight time or departure place, an individual/separate transport and the express charge for the permits with other extra charge would be provided. Following is our price for those:

  • 4) The price is ONLY the ground cost, excluding the airfare or the train tickets.

  • 6) The price is based on 2PAX sharing one room, if you want to stay in a room alone or there is no one to share the room with you, you need to pay for the single supplement, it is RMB 650 (equal to US$ 96) in total.

What is a Tibet Permit?

When you fly from any city to Lhasa you will need to show this permit when you check in at the airport. Furthermore, whenever you buy a flight to Lhasa you need to show this permit. TTB permits are also needed by groups traveling by Land Cruiser but this will be arranged by the travel agency organizing the trip. More »
