Day 1

Place & Transport: Arrive in Lhasa, get the first impression of Tibet
Today's Activities: Plane Ride
Meals: D
Detailed Itinerary: Arrive in Lhasa airport, capital of Tibet and be greeted by Tibetan English speaking guide in a traditional Tibetan way. And then drive to the city. Check-in at a tourist class hotel. Welcome dinner is Tibetan style food with Tibetan singing and dancing show.

Day 2

Place & Transport: Lhasa highlights escorted tour
Today's Activities: Trishaw Ride
Meals: B,L,D
Detailed Itinerary: Trishaw riding to visit the giant palace Potala Palace which serves as successive Dalai Lamas' winter residents, lunch is Nepali style food at Steakhouse near Bachor Street. Then go to the center of Buddhism named Jokhang Temple, and later on stroll in the famous bazaar Bachor Street which surrounds the Jokhang Temple. Enjoy the delicious Chinese Spicy food in a famous Sichuan Restaurant Jiang Paigu.

Day 3

Place & Transport: Lhasa
Today's Activities: Cycling and Learning from Locals
Meals: B,L,D
Detailed Itinerary: Cycle to the countryside in the morning along the river, stay with Tibetans and turn yourself into a Tibetan for one day. You could learn how to make Tibetan joss stick or Tibetan porcelain, you could paint Thangka with Tibetan artisans, or you could learn how Tibetans turn the yak dung into a good fuel, or how they gather in the harvest, you also could make lunch with Tibetan families and learn how to make Tibetan flavor food Zanba and how to eat it… Different season, different activities. Enjoy the food made by yourself with the Tibetan families for lunch, the dinner is western style food in Snowland Restaurant.

Day 4

Place & Transport: Yamdrok Lake (alt.4040m)
Today's Activities: Trekking
Meals: B,L,D
Detailed Itinerary: After the previous days low-paced tour, from today and on we drive to the nature. Firstly drive to Yamdrok Lake, one of the four Tibetan respected lakes. Enjoy the turquoise lake, and distanced view of snow- capped mountain Nyanchi Khangsang, worth of a photograph. Stay there for hours where you can stroll along the bank of the lake, take photograph, and even you can meditate for a while. Picnic by the lake, and then driver forward along the country road to Aza Valley start our trekking there along Zhentso. After dinner, if weather permits, you could stroll along the lake, shooting fabulous scenery of sunset. Camp tonight, lying on the grass under the clear sky, enjoy the twinkle stars, enjoy the fragrance of the earth, enjoy your breath.

Day 5

Place & Transport: Samding Monastery
Today's Activities: Trekking
Meals: B,L,D
Detailed Itinerary: After enjoy the sunrising by the lake, drive to Samding Monastery, if lucky, you could see them chanting as well. Then drive back to Lhasa, taste Chinese hot pot at people's communes.

Rafting in Lhasa River

Day 6

Place & Transport: Kyichu River (Lhasa River)
Today's Activities: Rafting and Horsing
Meals: B,L,D
Detailed Itinerary: Depart Lhasa in the morning and drive to Kyichu River. After the safety talk and training, we start today's adventure- the Kyichu River rafting. Lunch box. Then in the afternoon, drive around 1hr to the Doilung Dêqên Zong where we outfit the group. Horses are still used by many rural Tibetans to get around. To get a real experience of rural Tibetan life we must travel as the locals do, horse riding is also the perfect way to enjoy the dramatic landscape of the plateau. Explore more with your free time back to Lhasa.

Day 7

Place & Transport: Lhasa
Today's Activities: Train Ride
Meals: B
Detailed Itinerary: Start the amazing train journey this morning, the train runs right across the Tibetan plateau, offering us unlimited opportunities to witness the spectacular views of the Kunlun and Nyechen Tangula Mountain ranges, numbers of glaciers, lakes, nomad tents and their uncountable sheep and yaks dotted on immense grand land. It's another way to explore through the roof of the world. Tour services end, Tibet welcome you back forever!

What is a Tibet Permit?

When you fly from any city to Lhasa you will need to show this permit when you check in at the airport. Furthermore, whenever you buy a flight to Lhasa you need to show this permit. TTB permits are also needed by groups traveling by Land Cruiser but this will be arranged by the travel agency organizing the trip. More »
