Tibet Hotels

Lhasa Hotel, named Holiday Inn,7 years ago, is a very modern hotel with some very typical rooms. It is also an unique four star hotel in Tibet. There are such facilities as 24 hours English TV programs like CNN and HBO, central heating system, safe box in the rooms, etc. 10 minutes drive to Potala Palace, 5 minutes walk to Dalai Lama's Summer Palace and Tibet Museum. So far it is among the first choices for tourists to Tibet.  Since Holiday Inn Management had been there for years, you will enjoy your stay in Lhasa if you choose this hotel. Location: No1 Minzhu Road, Lhasa city

Tibet Hotel was built in shape of Potala Palace. The picture on the right is her VIP wing which has the first class to above 4 stars inside rooms. There are the other three luxury wings which are also comfortable but cheaper. It was also among your first choice  while you are traveling to Tibet. A few bigger series of groups from Overseas Adventure Travel  Uniworld, etc choose this one for their destination stay.  Most probably it will be 4 star hotel in months just because it is getting better and better in terms of management and facilities. The location  is as good as Lhasa hotel mentioned above. And also this one is one of our recommendations. ( from point of view of us )

Location: No 64 Middle Beijing Road, Lhasa City

Shangbala Hotel is famous for its best location with less than two minutes walk to Jokhang Temple and Barchor bazaar,  the center of Lhasa, 10 minutes drive to Potala Palace.  It is a very standard  three star hotel and it brings you so much convenience if you stay there. And it is very easy for you to see the Lhasa old section. There are 65 rooms and a view elevator. The shortcoming is the narrow bed and its smaller space in the rooms compared to the two hotels above. Staying at this hotel, you could just walk out the gate to a few famous restaurants for Nepalese-run western food, local flavor, and Chinese dishes. Recommendation, too.
